Review: Ole Henriksen Power Bright

August 2, 2016 By Jennifer

2 Aug

When I was in college, I was told by my dermatologist that one of the best ways to prevent aging was to be religious about using Vitamin C creams. Over the years I have been hit or miss when it comes to remembering to apply my Vitamin C, but after testing out some of Ole Henriksen’s awesome products, I don’t think it will be as much of a challenge.

Ole Henriksen Power Bright Review

The contents of my Ole Henriksen Voxbox from Influenster

Just who is Ole Henriksen? He is a Scandanavian skincare expert, cosmetician and manufacturer of skincare products who has been working in the skincare industry for more than 40 years. The Danish born Henriksen opened his very own Beverly Hills spa in 1975 and quickly became a celebrity skincare guru. Some of his star clients include Kate Beckinsale, Charlize Theron, Mark Wahlberg, Mathew McConaughey, Ellen DeGeneres, Hugh Jackman and many, many more. In 1984 he launched his product line which made it possible to enjoy spa-like results in the comfort of your own home.

According to a little digging on the internet, the most popular spa treatment at Ole Henriksen’s spa is his famous Power Peel. Now, you can enjoy many of the same benefits of the Power Peel at home with Ole Henriksen’s Power Bright Skin Treatment. And let me tell you, after just one treatment my skin looked more radiant and felt smoother and firmer. I think I might just be hooked.

Ole Henriksen Power Bright Review

Ole Henriksen’s Power Bright Skin Treatment

Power Bright is a three step treatment that will give you immediate and dramatic results (and it smells absolutely divine). The first step is a Truth Sugar Glow Polishing Mask followed by the Radiant Truth 25% Vitamin C Intensive treatment and finishing off with Pure Truth Melting Cleanser. Each step is perfectly measured out in these brilliant little trays so you don’t have to fret about using too much or too little product. Everything is just right. The directions are very easy to follow and the results really are instantaneous.

In the first step, you apply the Truth Sugar Glow Polishing Mask which is a thick exfoliator made with raw sugar and pomegranate seed powder. While you can definitely feel it working away all of the dead skin cells on the surface of your skin, it is not overly harsh and it has an intense citrusy smell (which I like). The second step is the vitamin C which, at 25%, is highly concentrated, so be cautious if you have overly sensitive skin (I actually have sensitive skin but had no problems – just be safe). You leave this part on for 5-10 minutes so it can penetrate the skin and work its magic (because I was worried about my sensitive skin, I stuck closer to the 5 minute mark but will probably do it for a bit longer next time). Finally, you apply the Pure Truth Melting Cleanser which creates a warm, tingling sensation as it cleanses. After rinsing off the Truth Melting Cleanser and patting your face dry, you will feel as though you’ve spent the afternoon at the spa.

Ole Henriksen’s Power Bright Skin Treatment is available exclusively at Sephora.

I received Ole Henriksen’s Power Bright Skin Treatment and other Ole Henriksen products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes but all opinions are my own and I only ever review products and brands that I personal like and support.
