Man Up!: Tales of My Delusional Self-Confidence by Ross Matthews
I have been a huge fan of Ross Matthews since I first saw him years ago as “Ross the Intern” on the Tonight. He was always so joyous that you couldn’t help but smile when he was on the television. No longer just an intern, Ross has gone on to have a rather productive Hollywood career, befriending some of Tinseltown’s biggest stars (He actually asked Gwyneth Paltrow to be his best friend…and she said yes… seriously…she even wrote the book’s foreword). His book, a memoir, is a fun, quick read that had me literally laughing out loud at parts (and I don’t mean that “lol” stuff that you text to people when you don’t know what else to say but feel that there needed to be some sort of reply… I’m talking seriously laughing out loud…and just maybe even snorting…once… okay, twice). This is a great summer, beach read, which you can totally tell because it has pink on the cover. I love books with pink on the cover almost as much as I love books with shoes on the cover. Thanks to the book, I also discovered that Ross has a blog! How I did not know that before is beyond me! Fair warning… the book is definitely not PG (he has a cute story about learning how to curse from his dad), but Chelsea Handler wrote the afterward, so what did you really expect?
