Hello Darlings!

Hello dear readers! I have been struggling with writing on the blog lately and last night it finally hit me why. After posting recipes on here and getting some pretty nice feedback, I’ve felt pressure to put up great recipes all the time. Mind you, the pressure is coming only from me and my tendency to overachieve– not because of anything that you’ve done… just taking time out of your day to read my tiny little insignificant blog, means that you are pretty awesome in my book. Anyway… David likes to say that have a predisposition to gravitate to all things over – Overachieving, overanalyzing, over-preparing, overreacting (he put a special emphasis on the overreacting part… I think he was trying to tell me something). Regardless, I was feeling pressure to put out perfection, and you know what? I am so far from perfect that any attempts at perfection are not only crazy, but completely futile. So, I’ve decided to get back to what I originally intended for this blog to be and that is a creative outlet where I can share all of the things I’m excited about at any given moment. Am I still going to post recipes? Abso-freaking-lutely! Am I going to feel like they have to be posted alongside perfectly staged, well-lit photographs? No way (who am I kidding? Yes way! But I’m trying to get over it). I’m also not going to pressure myself into posting drool-worthy recipes all the time because for every hit in my repertoire, there have been a lot of flops, especially when it comes to new things like gluten-free or vegan baking.

Where am I going with all of this? I guess, what I’m trying to say is that I would rather this flawed little blog exist in all of its glorious imperfection than  not exist at all, and if it is going to exist, I would like for it to be active a little more frequently. The year is half over, so I’m making a mid-year resolution to post more often. I’m not always very good at keeping my resolutions, but I’m going to try to do my best. I might not post something every day, but I really can’t post less than what I have been, so here’s to trying!
