Grown Up School Supplies

September 2, 2016 By Jennifer

Don't you just love new york in the fall? It makes me want to buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address. Tom Hans as Joe Fox in You've Got Mail

Last night was Back to School night for the kiddos. It is always one of my favorite nights of the school year because I get a chance to meet with their new teachers and discover all of the exciting things they will be learning throughout the year. I love seeing the classroom decorations and checking out the books lining the shelves. I am so excited this year because I absolutely adore both of the boys’ teachers (not to mention their school – I LOVE their school).

Getting back into the school routine can be rough for a lot of people. You have to start going to bed and getting up earlier, remembering to pack a lunch, get into the habit of doing homework. Having the right tools is a big help in getting you back into the swing of things. The older the boys get, the longer their list of necessary school supplies becomes. It is a good thing that I love school shopping so much. All of those fresh, unmarred school supplies are absolutely heavenly. There is nothing better than a brand new box of crayons or freshly sharpened colored pencils. So much possibility, so much fun to be had. I enjoy taking the boys along with me and watching which supplies they pick for themselves. It gives me a peek into their ever changing personalities. Every year as I load up baskets of school supplies for the boys, I find myself putting together baskets of supplies for me and David as well. Our baskets contain fewer glue sticks and products by Crayola, but they are just as fun. Below are just a few of the grown up back to school supplies on my wish list.
