Is anyone still out there? I guess if you’re reading this it means that you are.
I wish I had a better explanation for where I’ve been lately other than “life happens,” but that’s all I have. Sometimes life takes you for twists and tumbles that you could never have imagined. Sometimes the twists are good and other times, not so much. I’ve had a bit of both the last few months and I’m finally starting to get back into the swing of things. I have meant to update the blog so many times but I never felt like I had anything good enough to put up. I’d make a great new side dish, but I would forget to take pictures or I would attend an event and forget to take my camera. I kept putting pressure on myself that everything had to be perfect, and they just weren’t. After some soul searching and a long talk with David, I’ve decided that the whole reason I started this blog was to have a creative outlet, so from now on I’m taking the pressure to be perfect off of my shoulders and just posting whatever feels right at the time. I hope that you’ll like it.
Anyway, I think it’s about time to get this blog back up and rolling. I hope that you are all well. Things around here have been quite busy. Between school events and sports, the kids have kept our evenings and weekends booked. Since I last updated we had Christmas, New Year’s, Valentine’s Day and so much more. So, here are just a few of our highlights: In December David and I made Hungarian sausages with both of our families. The boys got into the action and helped out, so it was a lot of fun. On Christmas Day I discovered that I will become an aunt for the very first time this summer! I am over the moon – you have no idea! In January, our Marcali Emerson chairs made it into the pages of House and Home Magazine, which was an unexpected surprise! February was probably our busiest month. Our little guy struggled with a stomach bug for nearly two weeks, so I enjoyed lots of cuddles at home with him while David covered for me at work. Our eldest fared much better (he only missed two days of school being sick). He also finished his winter soccer league (David was the team’s coach) and he was baptized at our church, which was a huge step for him (and for our family)!
So far, March is off to a great start! Marcali is in the process of launching a new line of textiles, so that is keeping us occupied at the moment. I’ll be sharing more info on that (including pictures) soon. I look forward to posting more often and I hope you’ll stick around and see where this little blog takes us!
