On December 7 we always take a break from Christmas movies to watch a Pearl Harbor movie. This year, which marks the 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, was no exception. My favorite is always Michael Bay’s super blockbuster, aptly named Pearl Harbor, primarily because it stars Ben Affleck and I never turn down watching a Ben Affleck movie (David doesn’t either, go figure). I own Gigli, that’s how big of a fan I am, but I digress. My dad is out of town on a business trip or we would also be watching Tora! Tora! Tora! If you haven’t seen it, the 1970 film is really quite good and the only reason I didn’t watch it today was because my dad gone and I wouldn’t feel right watching it without him. Plus, we’re playing the holiday movie game and our last movie was, no joke, Serendipity, which can get you to Pearl Harborbecause both films star Kate Beckinsale (it just happened to work out this year… this has never happened, we usually just take a quick timeout to allow for a Pearl Harbor day). David is picking next and my guess is that he will pick Reindeer Games, because it is his favorite Ben Affleck Christmas movie. You never know though. He could surprise me and pick Surviving Christmasbecause we have that one too. I’m telling you. I don’t think that there is a Ben Affleck movie that we don’t own. It always helps when your Hollywood crush just so happens to be your husband’s man-crush.
