On Sunday we had the opportunity to go to the MLS Cup Final and we had the best time. We are huge LA Galaxy fans and it was awesome to see them win the championship again (you can see this post on the last time we went to the final). The last time we went to the MLS Cup it was a big day because it was David Beckham’s final professional soccer game. This time it was the final game for another of our favorite players, Landon Donovan.
David and I went along with my brother, our boys and Big Guy’s good friend from school. We arrived early and took in all of the pregame festivities where the boys loaded up on hordes of free goodies companies like Bimbo Bakeries, Home Depot and Microsoft. Unfortunately I forgot to grab my camera on the way out of the house, but thankfully our new iPhones have pretty good cameras built in (seriously, what did we do before iPhones?). Most of these pictures were taken from my Instagram and David’s Instagram.
This was Little Man’s first professional soccer game and I was surprised at how interested he was in the actual game and how easily he could identify his favorite players (both boys are huge fans of Landon Donovan, Robbie Keane and Omar Gonzalez). It was an exciting game and actually went into overtime. There were several tense minutes and I feared that the game would end up going to penalty kicks but in the end, the Galaxy came out on top and it was a great way for Landon Donovan to wind-up his career.
